Music

Ryan Drives The Bus

Music as worship is at the heart of what we do at Castle Cary Methodist Church. There is a team of musicians who offer both traditional and modern Christian music during services and events.

Both morning and evening services can include hymns and songs played on the organ, piano, melody instruments or the worship band can provide a more contemporary feel. For some services, all the musicians of the church come together to praise God by playing and singing together.

imageWe value both the Methodist tradition of hymn singing and the emergence of new forms of Christian musical expression. This has included Taize worship, contemporary Christian music from folk to rock to country, to choral singing in parts during Advent. We are always open to new ideas and expressions of worship through music.

The music team always welcome opportunities to share God’s love through music, though we are not exclusive – new musicians of any experience are always encouraged and welcome. We have players with years of experience and some who have only recently begun to learn, and variety of ages.

Most importantly, we try and find a balance so there is something to suit everybody. We also like to give people the opportunity to experience worship styles that are new to them, as well as provide worship in styles that are familiar.
